Florida attorney John Morgan joined and is now chairman of the political committee of People United for Medical Marijuana (PUFFM). Morgan has said marijuana helped ease his father's suffering as he was dying of cancer and he believes that legalization in a controlled distribution program is needed by pain sufferers in Florida. Florida residents, with the help of United for Care, are urging backers to sign petitions to get the legalization of medicinal marijuana on the ballot for the early 2014 Florida legislative session.
